Really late to the party here, but I just saw this linked somewhere on delicious. Great post (and comments). I was somewhat bothered by her initial post, but it was only when she started arguing in comments that no, everyone has to do this overidentification thing because she says so that I got really annoyed. Not everyone does fandom that way. Really. *headdesk*
