all hail the power of geek cred

If you are suffering or ever have suffered from the debilitating ailment of actually understanding the rules to Magic: the Gathering AND you are, you know, conscious of the world around you (admittedly perhaps a small subset of the former group), then

You Must See This.

No, seriously.

I love my brother and sister fangeeks *so much* sometimes. Seriously. We're the bestest.

"Sean Penn in a Leaky Boat must always attack if the opponent controls any media creatures."

Awesome.

That was just plain the best part of my whole day.

Hey, I dunno if word has reached you yet, but I'm going to be in Columbia for a few days (the Saturday through Monday ones) here soon. What chance that I will be able to see you and your lovely wife at some point?

Well, of course my lovely wife's schedule is more crowded than mine. She's got Saturday lunch and afternoon available, and Sunday dinner and evening. Monday afternoon is also possible; she may be able to skip out of work.

We both have Dave's D&D game on Saturday, unless he dies before then. I also have classes Monday morning, but that's it for me. Give us a call. Perhaps there will be watching of the Serenity.

My grandmother's dying!

There's no way to make that sound cheerful, is it? Well, yeah. Her lungs are failing pretty steadily, and since the jury's out on whether or not she'll be around by Christmas, I've been looking for a longish weekend to come back and see her.

It's not as morbid as it sounds. Mostly I need a break, I wanted to see family and friends, and there's a free car in it for me. But my grandmother is the thing that moved it from "man, I really want a trip home" into "when can I arrange this trip home?"

It sounds like Sunday afternoon/dinner/evening, we might be able to get something going on. Would that work for you?

Man, that sucks...sorry to hear.

Sunday would actually be the only time that works for me...so that sounds good. It'll be cool to see ya again...hope school is going well.

Too amusing for words...
