So, is there really an SGA vid to Weird Al's "White and Nerdy," or am I just living in my beautiful fantasy world again? Because I feel that I remember that, but maybe it's just because there so clearly SHOULD be one.
And then you know what else there should be? An SGA vid to Lifehouse's "First Time," because I'M SORRY, BUT GOD I LOVE THAT SONG! And my initial thought was that it should be a Rodney/Ronon vid, because I think after two years there's enough footage for that now, and anyway I'm writing that pairing at the moment, so it's obviously at the forefront of my brain. But then I thought, man, really it would be great for Ronon and the whole team! And then I thought, actually, it's got that whole thing about A)fear of intimacy and B) flying, so clearly it's a Sheppard vid! And then I thought, OH, FUCK IT, OT4! You could so totally do a whole great Team vid to "First Time," what with all the hugging and the saving each other's lives and whatnot, and IT WOULD BE SO AWESOME MY WHOLE SYSTEM WOULD SHUT DOWN AND I WOULD DIE AND IT WOULD BE TOTALLY WORTH IT.
A little bit I'm 12, I know. But it would still kick ass.

sgdiverse_award, and will be open for voting for two more weeks! (f/f pairings and multiples are still in the process, and will be open correspondingly longer) It is by no means too late to dive in and vote! I myself have four nominated stories in two categories -- "Fourteen Years" and "Release Mechanism" in Sheppard/Ronon and "13 O'Clock" and "In the Hands of Yes" in Rodney/Ronon, with, I can't remember, two or three yet to come in the categories that haven't opened yet -- and more than anything I'm excited about the idea that their inclusion in this massive project could make them available to a whole new audience, because I can't be the only person who's taking the DiversiFICation awards as a low-risk way to dip into pairings I've never had much contact with before this.
I'm sort of pondering some kind of bribery scheme, but I don't know if it would be useful? If I promised to write, I dunno, 500 words of porn for the rare/femme/poly-pairing of your choice, would that give anyone needed motivation to go check outsgdiverse_award? I'm not sure what the terms would be -- your word that you've voted in five categories? Left ten feedback comments on the stories you find there? There's so much cool stuff there, guys! If it makes you feel any better, both my partner and I wished for the same thing the first time we heard that song. You can just *see* the scenes, can't you?
