OMG WTF CAR ACCIDENT!!!!

So Mary and I were coming home from dinner tonight and we got REAR-ENDED in the MIDDLE OF THE ROAD for NO REASON by some lady!

We're both pretty sore, and I imagine we'll be more sore tomorrow. Since it's all on someone else's insurance, we're planning to go to the doctor tomorrow and get some x-rays and all that, since when you're dealing with neck and back problems, all kinds of crazy things can happen down the road. My car is driveable and all that, but there's some body damage that, I don't know how easy it'll be to fix -- I'm sort of worried that, since my car is in good condition but pretty old, they'll want to total it instead, and it'll be very difficult to find a car this nice for the bluebook value of mine. But that's borrowing trouble; no sense worrying until someone's had a look at it.

Anyway, that kind of threw off my plans to use tonight and tomorrow to finish my Thoughtcrimes story. I'm supposed to have it done by the 1st, but with the car thing and the doctor thing, I don't know. It could come out late, which I hope everyone involved with the CoC ficathon will understand.

We went to the grocery store afterwards and bought Ibuprofen and pie. These things are helpful, especially in combination with the wine we already had at home. However, fic would also make me feel better -- especially if there was a massage in it somewhere! Hey, if being in a CAR ACCIDENT isn't good for trying to squeeze your flist for fic, then it's isn't good for anything, is it?

wow - I'm glad you're both ok, but I agree you'll likely be way stiff tomorrow! take care - hot water, ibuprofen and rest (plus the doctor visit) all sound like a good plan; the pie will undoubtedly make you both feel better!

wish I could offer fic for you - sadly, that's been broken for years :(

"let me heal you with wholesome porn!"

Except all I can give you is an IOU.

I do have a story with a massage in it, I promise. (g)

Yikes! I'm glad y'all are at least intact, and hope you're not too sore tomorrow.

Ouch. Hope the x-rays don't unearth anything bad.

Ugh. I hope the lady was at least apologetic. I've found that can make a huge difference in my mood when I'm rear-ended. I once got rear-ended twice in one month. The first lady hit me at a stop light and was all "OMG! I'm so sorry! I'm such an idiot. Totally blanked for a second, and at the worst possible moment. Here, take my insurance info. Are you okay? Do I need to drive you to the hospital?" The second lady gave me a lame excuse about how I'd stopped suddenly. (I'd braked and signaled my turn half a block back) in order to cover up that she was distracted by her kids fighting in the back seat.

Glad you're okay, but it's so fucking annoying to have to put up with idiots behind the wheel. Every time I've been rear ended or hit, I've just been minding my own business and bam. It's so disconcerting. Hope there are no medical problems to crop up later.

Geez! I'm glad you're okay! Fandom has had a terrible string of luck this year.
