a reasoned, critical review of Buffy Season 8 #11, "Anywhere But Here." no spoilers.

AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME IT IS SO AWESOME, IT IS THE MOST WONDERFUL THING EVER, EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT -- BEST!! ISSUE!! EVER!!!

The only thing that would have made it a little more awesome would be seeing SMG and Alyson Hannigan actually acting those last couple of pages. Comics can be quite cool and all, but nothing will ever quite live up to good actors for me. Anyway.

IT IS STILL AMAZINGLY AWESOME AND I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT. ANYWHERE BUT HERE FTW!!!!!!!!

How have you seen #11 when #10 isn't even out yet? ... If you're getting an early viewing, the only thing I can say is -- JEALOUS!!
Seriously though, I'm loving the whole series. I even bought a special box to hold the comics and have hidden them away from my sticky-fingered 10- and 7-year-old sons so they can't contaminate the paper, or fold, spindle or otherwise mutilate the pages.

Do I mean #10? I might mean #10. *g* You can't listen to me too carefully -- you can clearly see I'm unbalanced right now. UNBALANCED BY THE AWESOME!

It must be 10, come to think of it, because there were 4 in the Long Road Home arc, 4 in No Future For You, and the standalone (which was actually my personal favorite until this one). I've liked the whole run pretty well, but this was the first that I thought genuinely had the depth and character work of the tv series.

I haven't been as impressed as I wanted to be with the series yet, but I did really enjoy a lot of this issue; I thought it was a step up from the first arc Joss did. And the fantasies! Good times. :D Wish I knew the backstory of, ahem, one of those Willow flashbacks.

Um, I realize I should clarify: the characters' Anywhere But Here fantasies. Yes.
