So as many of you have noticed, the entire Gatefiction domain seems to be gone, and I haven't been able to get hold of my host there. I hung out a while hoping it was a glitch that would be repaired, but...it hasn't been, and I have like 70-something stories that existed there and nowhere else.

Anybody have a little corner of space they'd like for me to have for my new internet homestead? I dislike and distrust free web hosting operations, for aesthetic reasons as well as the inevitable concerns about unfanfriendliness. I would even repay you in fic. Oh, and eternal gratitude, naturally -- but also fic!

I'd be willing to put you up, but you'd have to trust me to FTP the files in and out as you needed them. (The fee for an additional FTP account is something like a quarter of the hosting fee.)

Alternately, you might want to consider just hosting with An Archive of Our Own. It should be live very, very soon.

I can put you up - you get to ftp your own stuff, control your space etc. I can make you a user on my dreamhost account, no problem. I gave several people their 1 gig of space, and several of them I made WP blogs for using as fiction archive.

I'm also in shock - I had not noticed that the site was gone, god, and I'm scrambling to look and see if I have stories of yours saved locally that you might not have yourself. what a devastating loss! *whimpers*

Just in case "I have like 70-something stories that existed there and nowhere else" means *you* don't have copies (though that seems unlikely!), you're archived safely on the Wayback Machine. I've been ScrapBooking all your stuff from there as a just-in-case!

I've been checking in constantly since Sat when I discovered that you have a whole bunch of Rodney/Ronan fics (through recs) that I would love to read. Nearly died with horror when I reached your site and found it down... Just when I thought I would finally find my fic fix :)

Here's to hoping you get your site up soon. Would love it too if you can email them to me. :)

Oh, jeez, I just hot-footed it over to your Livejournal after happening across "Be Cool" at SGA Flashfic, because I wanted to stay up really really late reading everything you've ever written. I would be so shattered if this happened to my work. Hope you find all your fics and a place to host them safely.

did you know there is a fan based fic archive project called archive of our own? http://archiveofourown.org/
It will be permanent and there are already a lot of sga writers involved, speranza to name just one.
