There's no way to make that sound cheerful, is it? Well, yeah. Her lungs are failing pretty steadily, and since the jury's out on whether or not she'll be around by Christmas, I've been looking for a longish weekend to come back and see her.
It's not as morbid as it sounds. Mostly I need a break, I wanted to see family and friends, and there's a free car in it for me. But my grandmother is the thing that moved it from "man, I really want a trip home" into "when can I arrange this trip home?"
It sounds like Sunday afternoon/dinner/evening, we might be able to get something going on. Would that work for you?
