(conditional) WOOT!
Apr. 12th, 2006 03:28 pmAfter a long meeting with someone whose entire job is to figure these things out (and who, btw, was hands-down the most relaxed and friendly university administrator I've dealt with at any school; usually the bureaucratic layer of academia is positively soul-killing, but Rita is the bee's knees), I am DEFINITELY ABSOLUTELY WITHOUT A DOUBT GRADUATING IN FOUR WEEKS.
There is still some small confusion about whether my degree will be mailed to me promptly afterwards, or if I'll have to wait a month or two to get all officialized. However, apparently commencement is pretty much a complete sham (did you know they don't even have your last semester's *grades* yet? I could have spent the last four months in Jamaica and still show up to graduate!), so I'm IN. They're putting my name in the program and everything.
Always assuming Louis MacNeice doesn't send me to an early grave, of course.
(I feel vaguely sad for professors who are currently urging me to demonstrate my "critical perspective" on this or that poem. I am graduating in four weeks. I do not have a critical perspective. I won't even like poetry again until May 14.)
