I can definitely see there being an element of that -- it *shouldn't* be good at all, *why* is it even sometimes good, let alone sometimes a little tiny bit freaking brilliant? Maybe the way you can never *quite* pin down where it falls on the sucky-to-genius-ometer has something to do with why it keeps pulling me back in.
One thing SGA does have in common with all those other shows is the ability to catch me utterly by surprise.
