Have I mentioned I *love* how Midwestern Supernatural is? As if it didn't delight me enough that every other episode name checks Lawrence, Kansas, they are now headed to Jefferson City! Right now! It's like thirty miles south of my hometown, eee!
Also, as I peruse my post-college life options, there seems to be this percolating possibility that I'm going to end up moving to North Carolina. Anybody out there live in the Raleigh-Durham area? Don't worry, I won't make you help me move! I'm just wondering.

Date: 2006-05-16 11:02 pm (UTC)From: (Anonymous)Anyway, I just left the Triangle 6 months ago. The job market is great, and housing is very affordable. It's a great place for techies. Half the people there are transplants from NY who came to work in the RTP for Nortel or IBM, back in the day.
Traffic isn't unbearable, but there's lots of sprawl, and many uber burbs. It's the land of SUV's, soccer mom's and NASCAR dad's. Check out Chapel Hill and the Glenwood area for housing and entertainment. There are some cool lofts in Durham, but crime's a problem. Make sure you go to a Durham Bulls game if you visit.
It's a great place to live if you fit in. I just couldn't deal with the whole young republican/bible belt mindset. Now I'm in Eugene, OR, which is much more my element. I don't need makeup or high heels here.
