Really really really enjoyed this. They're all so obstonately blind, and yet they care about each other and put it all out there, and finally, finally you can see them growing up, still taking care of each other... It's not an easy ending, but I loved it. It's hopeful.

I think growing up is a good term to use. Particularly by the ending, I think there's this transition that's probably been building for a while that leaves John and Rodney in desk jobs (John for the first time, Rodney returning to that kind of work after a few years of Adventuring) and Ronon and Teyla entering civilian life. And I think that isn't easy -- moving away from how you saw yourself and what you did with your life when you were younger, but it's a pretty common thing to wake up and have happen to you, when you're in your thirties and forties like these people. But I'm a real proponent of changing when it's time to change; I think they'll be fine, they'll adapt to new lives, and the constant is always your family, you know?

Anyway, enough rambling. Glad you enjoyed the story!
